DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Red River Gorge Bigfoot Fest will be held in Stanton\, Kentucky May 29\, 2026 thru May 30\, 2026.  Stanton City Park will burst with excitement\, a lively array of vendors\, mouthwatering food\, fantastic contests\, and perhaps a visit by the hairy one himself!  \nThe free event includes free presentations from world-renowned researchers\, an incredible lineup of Bigfoot and cryptid-loving vendors\, delicious food trucks\, contests and entertaining performances. \nIt all kicks off Friday night with a VIP dinner (ticketed event) where you can enjoy a delicious dinner alongside world-renowned guest speakers from the Bigfoot community. Engage in insightful discussions and connect with fellow enthusiasts during our Q&A session at the end. \nSaturday includes contests such as the cryptid costume contest\, a Bigfoot howling contest and a cryptid tattoo contest.  Compete against other howlers to echo out the fiercest\, most bone-chilling howl in the forest as part of the Bigfoot howling contest.  Show off your inked cryptid whether it’s Mothman\, Chupacabra\, or Bigfoot and you could win big in the cryptid tattoo contest!  I may need to get a ‘I love Bigfoot’ tattoo done soon so I can compete.  The cryptid costume contest will have 3 winning categories: 1) Best Cryptid\, 2) Best Superhero or Supervillain\, 3) Most Creative Costume.   \nAlso as part of Saturday’s activities will be a variety of Bigfoot presentations from several experts in the cryptid community.  Throughout the day the kids can enjoy arts & crafts\, face painting\, caricature portraits\, petting zoo\, and Bigfoot bounce house inflatables!  A Bigfoot bounce house sounds like something I need in my backyard now.

SUMMARY:Blue Bridge Squatch Fest (KY)
DESCRIPTION:The Blue Bridge Squatch Fest will be held in Owensboro\, Kentucky on September 26\, 2026.  This fall festival is dedicated to Bigfoot\, cryptids\, and all things paranormal. Organizers say the inaugural Blue Bridge Squatch Fest promises dozens of vendors\, expert speakers\, contests\, and family-friendly activities. \nFestival activities will include Bigfoot calling contests for both adults and kids\, a cryptid costume contest featuring characters like Bigfoot\, Mothman\, and Dogman\, and a drawing contest for children ages 16 and under.  Because old people are terrible at drawing. \nThe event is set for September 26 at the Kentucky Sound Stage on Frederica Street. \nFred Chism\, the organizer\, said inspiration struck after attending a Bigfoot festival in Staunton\, Kentucky\, that far exceeded expectations. Fred said\, “They prepared for maybe 3\,000 or 4\,000 people”. “They had 12\,000 go through it. And that’s in the middle of nowhere.”  The good folk of Staunton should take offense to this comment.  \nThat experience convinced Chism that Owensboro would be a prime place to host a large-scale cryptid and paranormal event. \nGuest speakers include well-known figures in the cryptid and paranormal community: Charlie Raymond\, founder of the Kentucky Bigfoot Research Organization; Zach Bales\, a filmmaker and museum curator from Somerset; and John Reiners\, an author and paranormal investigator. Two local researchers\, Don Neil and Don Adkins\, will present recordings and video footage connected to reported Kentucky sightings.
