DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Brian King-Sharp Camp Out will be held at Appletree Group Camp in Nantahala\, North Carolina between 05/08/2026 and 05/10/2026. \n\nThis camp out is a ticketed event covering two nights and one speaker.  There’s only 15 allocated spots so space is definitely limited.  Check in is 4pm on Friday.  All food and drinks will be provided\, and you’ll also have access to toilets\, trash cans\, showers\, and a fire-pit. \nThings you’ll need to bring yourself include a tent\, camp chair\, towel/washcloth\, flashlight\, and Squatchin’ Gear.  Conceal carry is allowed but no long rifles.  Also\, alcohol is allowed in moderation. \nJust don’t drink too much and shoot Bigfoot if you see him.  PETC (People For the Ethical Treatment of Cryptids) may come after you.

Convention activities will include speakers\, vendors\, workshops\, a psychic gallery reading\, and a Bigfoot hike! \nWorkshops currently on the schedule include: casting make and take\, spirit photography\, everyday tools for spirit communication (no\, not a Ouja Board)\, Survival 101 “Don’t die in the Woods”\, the science of the paranormal\, and a remote viewing workshop. \nSpeakers will be covering topics such as Minnesota iceman\, Great Lakes Mothman phenomenon\, cryptids of the seas & lakes\, remote viewing and much more! \nThe Kids Bigfoot hike will be held Friday at 5PM and includes a one hour hike into the woods with recent Bigfoot activity.  Your hosts will help teach what to look for\, how to stay safe\, and how to debunk what is\, and what is not natural in the woods. This is a great beginner’s event for the budding bigfooter in your family.  Space is limited all kids MUST be accompanied by an adult with an accompanied ticket. \nThe Night Bigfoot hike will be held Friday at 8PM. You’ll head out on an expedition to seek the illusive creature known as Bigfoot in the woods of Wisconsin. Ask the seasoned researchers questions\, get advice along the way\, and learn techniques and like thermal imagers for yourself.  I wouldn’t stray off the trail too much on this one.

It’s catchy and fun. \nFestival activities will include a FREE traditional pancake breakfast from 8am – 11am hosted by the VFW and activities like the Hodag Calling Contest\, logging show\, scavenger hunt\, art display\, live music\, the Hodag Historical City Bus Tour\, speakers\, and more! \nThe Paul Bunyan Lumberjack show will feature thrilling lumberjack competitions\, including axe throwing\, crosscut sawing\, a chainsaw vs. crosscut race\, underhand and standing block chopping\, chainsaw carving\, and log rolling.  I’d maybe take a seat further in the back on this one…just in case a stray axe finds you. \nThe park-wide interactive scavenger hunt has participants uncovering clues\, solving puzzles\, and exploring hidden surprises.  \nThe Hodag Historical City Bus Tour costs $5 per person and includes a narrated tour to various historical stops around town. You’ll learn more about the Hodag at every stop. Tour lasts about 35-45 minutes. \nThe Hodag Calling Contest has participants competing by grunting\, howling\, barking\, or making whatever noise they think a Hodag would make. Stanton City Park will burst with excitement\, a lively array of vendors\, mouthwatering food\, fantastic contests\, and perhaps a visit by the hairy one himself!  \nThe free event includes free presentations from world-renowned researchers\, an incredible lineup of Bigfoot and cryptid-loving vendors\, delicious food trucks\, contests and entertaining performances. \nIt all kicks off Friday night with a VIP dinner (ticketed event) where you can enjoy a delicious dinner alongside world-renowned guest speakers from the Bigfoot community. Engage in insightful discussions and connect with fellow enthusiasts during our Q&A session at the end. \nSaturday includes contests such as the cryptid costume contest\, a Bigfoot howling contest and a cryptid tattoo contest.  Compete against other howlers to echo out the fiercest\, most bone-chilling howl in the forest as part of the Bigfoot howling contest.  Show off your inked cryptid whether it’s Mothman\, Chupacabra\, or Bigfoot and you could win big in the cryptid tattoo contest!  I may need to get a ‘I love Bigfoot’ tattoo done soon so I can compete.  The cryptid costume contest will have 3 winning categories: 1) Best Cryptid\, 2) Best Superhero or Supervillain\, 3) Most Creative Costume.   \nAlso as part of Saturday’s activities will be a variety of Bigfoot presentations from several experts in the cryptid community.  Throughout the day the kids can enjoy arts & crafts\, face painting\, caricature portraits\, petting zoo\, and Bigfoot bounce house inflatables!  A Bigfoot bounce house sounds like something I need in my backyard now.
