DESCRIPTION:The very first West Georgia Bigfoot Townhall will be held at Macintosh Reserve Park in Whitesburg\, Georgia\, on Saturday\, April 25th\, 2026. \nAt the event will be Bigfoot field research teams\, vendors\, local artists\, authors\, and more!  It’s a chance to meet fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts\, swap stories! \nThis is a family friendly town hall\, kids under 18 have free admission\, adults 18 & up are $10.  \nThere are primitive campsites available at the park.  They currently have 50(+) primitive (no hook-ups/no water/no power) campsites available throughout the park. They do allow self-contained RV’s/campers/pull behinds; there is no dump station. Camping is limited to a maximum of 5 nights. All campers are required to register with a valid ID and tag numbers for all vehicles and no person may camp without a vehicle on site.  \nThe primitive campsites are kind of like Gilligan’s Island:\nNo phone\, no lights\, no motor car\,\nNot a single luxury\,\nLike Robinson Crusoe\,\nIt’s primitive as can be.

DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Delta Symposium at Arkansas State University is set for April 8-11 featuring the theme “Monsters\, Cryptids\, and the Monstrous.”  This is a four-day academic and cultural conference featuring panels\, research presentations\, creative works\, workshops\, and performances. Events are held mainly at the student union and museum\, with some off-site activities. \nWednesday (April 8) includes opening sessions with focus on interdisciplinary discussions of monsters and their meanings.  It includes a forum with professors\, a presentation on “the monstrous as metaphor\,” and a creative exhibition of writing and photography. \nThursday (April 9) is packed with panels and research talks on folklore\, history\, culture\, and identity.   Topics include earthquakes as “monsters\,” ghost stories\, racial history\, political interpretations\, and artistic inspiration.  Featured are a hands-on workshop on oral history and an evening reading event at the Bradbury Art Museum. \nFriday (April 10) continues with research presentations on folklore\, gender\, international connections\, and cryptids.  It includes a keynote lecture on Cherokee storytelling and discussions connecting folklore to film and literature. \nSaturday (April 11) wraps up with another oral history workshop held in Dyess\, Arkansas.  It includes museum exhibits and the Arkansas Roots Music Festival\, tying folklore themes to music and culture. \nCulture and cryptids\, a perfect combination!

DESCRIPTION:Marche du Nain Rouge\, an annual street festival in Detroit\, Michigan that features the legendary red imp known as the Nain Rouge\, is being held in downtown Detroit on March 22\, 2026. \nThe free event is a mix of a parade\, street theater\, and costume party. Typical activities include a costume parade where people dress as demons\, goblins\, witches\, and the Nain Rouge itself\, theatrical storytelling\, music and street celebrations\, and an afterparty featuring a DJ and local vendors. \nMusic starts around 11:30am with the crowd gathering at the Community Stage located at the intersection of Canfield and Second.  The parade kicks off at 1pm with Detroit-by-way-of-New-Orleans Gabriel Brass Band.  The opening ceremonies conclude with the Nain leading a procession down to the Masonic Temple at 1:30 p.m.  Attendees are encouraged to “come with a pan on your head or in full regalia. Bring a washboard and jug band. Wear a costume. Build a human-powered float. Put on a mask\, cover your body in biodegradable glitter and sustainably harvested feathers– whatever it takes.” \nThe afterparty will begin in the Masonic Temple’s Fountain Ballroom starting around 2:30pm and going til 5pm. and will include drinks\, vendor tables\, and DJs. \nThese folks don’t mess around.  Actually feel bad for the little red imp as the residents take back control of their city.  Maybe it’ll bring a few wins for the Tigers too!

DESCRIPTION:The East Alabama Bigfoot Town Hall will be held in Seale\, Alabama from March 6\, 2026 thru March 7\, 2026.  The event is a lively community town hall hosted by Squatch Seekers focused on Bigfoot sightings\, stories\, and Sasquatch lore and designed for fans to share encounters and discuss regional reports.  The event will feature speakers from the Bigfoot community\, vendors\, food trucks and live music. \nThe event begins Friday night with a spaghetti dinner while meeting fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts\, researchers and locals.  After dinner there will be a meet and greet to share stories\, sightings and theories about the hairy one.  Things really get going after the meet and greet cause it’ll be time to go squatchin!  A guided field experience will lead guests into the darkness listening and looking for any traces of Bigfoot!  Make sure to bring your very out of focus camera in case you spot Bigfoot or some other cryptid! \nSaturday night brings a spooky evening exploring the eerie history of the Old Russell County Courthouse. You’ll tour the property listening for creaks and groans that might come from the floorboards below.
